A LETTER FROM OUR CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

April 8, 2020

The safety and wellbeing of TerraSmart’s team, customers and partners is our top priority.  As a result of COVID-19’s impact, the world has shifted, and we are all adjusting to a new normal.  Now, more than ever, TerraSmart remains committed to its prevailing ‘THINK SAFETY  theme on all job sites and practice our mission to ‘Do the simple things right while striving daily to deliver quality solutions.

As shared with you in the recent email sent on March 13, we’ve been closely monitoring the situation by following government guidance and advice, as well as listening to our customers, colleagues and experts.  TerraSmart is adhering to the CDC and all local, state and federal guidelines regarding safety and precautionary measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which means daily monitoring risk levels on all job sites across the country.  According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, TerraSmart’s continuing supply of solar manufacturing and installation services is needed to ensure the renewable energy section continues to operate without interruption.

In effort to do all that we can to keep TerraSmart’s operation running smoothly and safely, we’ve introduced a number of important measures that we want to share.

In the Field
As of today, the majority of our turnkey construction services are continuing in select states with enforcing additional safety, hygiene and distancing protocols to generate safe working environments.  In addition to following all OSHA safety guidelines and PPE requirements, there are now portable hand wash stations located on all job sites that allow employees to sanitize their hands at numerous times throughout the work day.

Manufacturing & Operational Facilities
TerraSmart’s manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio, as well as our operational hub in Selkirk, New York, have started implementing additional hygiene and safety practices.  In addition to ensuring social distancing in both facilities, we’re staggering break and shift times, and have increased our hygiene standards with more regulated deep cleans and readily available sanitizer.

We are all taking appropriate measures and precautions to ensure continuity across our operations.  Although we have experienced some delays as a result of government order and the social distancing requirements, we do not foresee further delays in product or material. However, we promise to be transparent and responsive should conditions change over the coming days and weeks.

Corporate office
TerraSmart’s corporate staff, in compliance with current guidelines, are diligently working from their home office and are operating during normal business hours through April 30, 2020.  This date may extend as the situation evolves, but please know that our team is entirely dedicated to serve our customers and is working hard to meet deadlines and commitments in a safe capacity.

In closing, I’m optimistic about our future and growing solar projects with our partners.  On April 13, TerraSmart embarks upon a milestone, our 10-year company anniversary.  While we wanted to be able to celebrate this month with all of you in Fort Myers, Florida, we have to wait until it is safe once again.

In this unprecedented time, communication is crucial, and we promise to stay in touch and hold true to our guiding values of Responsiveness and Integrity.  If you have further questions about our business or how we are responding, please contact your dedicated account manager or send us an email at [email protected].

Please continue to stay safe, healthy and connected.

Sincerely,

Ryan C. Reid
