Since the turn of the decade, Lenovo has made a corporate initiative to become a more energy-efficient company. With solar energy systems already deployed on their locations in China, the company wanted to make a splash for solar at their U.S. headquarters in North Carolina. We teamed up with Green State Power to design a unique solar canopy structure on the campus.

The goal was to deploy high volumes of PV on the site with an architectural twist to compliment a company thriving in the tech industry. This system covered the entire top-level parking garage, and additional modules were mounted on a customized “wall” structure, running along the garage’s staircase to its base. In Q1 2020, we completed construction on the surface lot portion of this project, bringing the total system size to 1.05 MWdc.
