When a craft brewing company in Vermont made a commitment to crafting the highest quality beer while focusing on long term sustainability, they turned to solar power to meet their clean energy goals. For this project two trussed structures built to withstand heavy snow loads of 52.9 psf were chosen to power the business. As an added benefit, 60% of the customer parking lot is now protected from sun and snow. Weather was a challenge during installation, which occurred between October to December of 2018. We had to blanket the grout in order to keep it from freezing and the powder coat touch up had to wait until Spring. Now, 67% of electricity is powered by solar. When completed, this was the largest solar canopy constructed in the state of Vermont.
