SPAULDING
SANDWICH, MA
595 kW | CANOPY
The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cape Cod put forth a plan to partner with GE in order to reduce carbon emissions and long-term energy costs. Their goal is to offset up to 80% of harmful emissions related to site operations by the year 2050.
As part of their expansion, the hospital added an additional 62 parking spaces. To accommodate both the hospital’s energy goals and the new parking spaces, Terrasmart designed a canopy structure that would cover two-thirds of the new lots. This customized design included flashing to flow with the curve of the parking area, so that no site modifications would be needed.
With our in-house design capabilities and project management expertise, the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital was able to make significant progress toward their emissions goal. The unique structure was designed to not only become a focal point for the property, but also serve as a power source for the hospital.
Our installation team worked in conjunction with the crew that was constructing the parking lot to help expedite the installation timeline, and at the same time, keep the project within budget.
