WASHINGTON NATIONALS PARK
WASHINGTON D.C.
1.47 MW | CANOPY
As part of an initiative to build upon their LEED-certified stadium, the Washington Nationals sought the assistance of energy companies and developers to build a solar energy system at Nationals Park.
Through a competitive bid process, Terrasmart was selected by the developer to design, fabricate, and install the carport structure. We provided an architectural design to complement the modernized setup of the ballpark.
To maximize PV coverage, the modules were orientated with a dual-directional design, allowing for maximized energy production throughout the daylight hours.
Our professional installation crew also followed a strict installation schedule during the off season and worked throughout the winter to meet pressing deadlines and complete the project by opening day. Additionally, our in-house manufacturing capabilities helped to facilitate faster fabrication lead times and expedite the delivery of high-quality products.
Working hand in hand with the developer, the garage canopy was delivered on time and within budget. This high-profile attraction in our nation’s capital showcases the growing public awareness for renewable energy and helps to offset around 10% of the ballpark’s annual electricity consumption.
